A Second Chance for Wings

The Credits

A Second Chance for Wings was created in 26 hours at the Build Your Own Game (BYOG) workshop at the 2015 New England LARP Conference (NELCO). Gaylord Tang moderated the BYOG effort. The game was written by Jennifer Diewald, Sarah Judd, Joshua Kronengold, Alon Levy, Michael McAfee, Lisa Padol, and Gaylord Tang.

The LARP was inspired by all of the Tale-telling LARPs exploding in the greater Intercon community. Given the writers' experiences creating and playing such games as Across the Sea of Stars, The Last Seder, Resonance, A Garden of Forking Paths, and The Tales of Irnh. Our goal was to experiment further with the Tale-telling structure, to create a branching structure. In A Second Chance for Wings, the decision made at the end of one Tale drives which Tale comes next. There are many Tales in this game, but the players will only experience a subset of them, along the path they choose. The outcomes can be very different.

There have been several revisions to the game, by several of the authors, across its many runs. These materials were uploaded into the NEIL LARP Library, where you can download them to read and run for your LARP groups and events!
