Game Sound Track

For the 2016 Festiväl run, Sami Genstein put together a wonderful Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll Spotify playlist for the game, based on her research and my suggestions. It fit the LARP really well, and was surprisingly synchronized to the game in several amusing coincidences. I was listening to a lot of the music as I was prepping the game, and it took me right back to 1986. This is what I was listening to when I wrote the LARP.

The section titles are Sami's, who divided the playlist into thematic groupings.

1 You couldn't avoid The Cars on the radio in Boston, as one of the big local groups of the time, even for music released before 1986. Besides, Toxic Waste opened for them for a brief time.

2 Aerosmith, the huge local band, rereleased a "greatest hits" album in 1986, so their earlier hits were everywhere on the radio in Boston.

3 Sigh. It's a shame that most of the players in the LARP probably know this song from an insurance commercial.

4 Bruce Springsteen released a huge live collection that was all over the radio.

5 There is probably no truth to the rumor that Boston wrote this song about Amanda Harrington-Smythe.
